What is Endodontics?
ENDODONTIC THERAPY – OFTEN JUST CALLED “A ROOT CANAL” – IS PERFORMED ON A TOOTH THAT IS SO SEVERELY DECAYED OR INFECTED THAT IT IS IN DANGER OF BEING LOST.
IN MANY CASES, A TOOTH REQUIRING ROOT CANAL THERAPY MAY ALSO BE CAUSING PAIN. AT LAKEVIEW ENDODONTICS, OUR ROOT CANAL SPECIALIST, DR. QUINTON MINER, IS EXPERIENCED, HIGHLY TRAINED AND – MOST IMPORTANT OF ALL – DEDICATED TO THE HIGHEST STANDARDS OF CARE. IN SUPPORT OF YOUR DENTIST’S EFFORTS TO GET YOU OUT OF PAIN QUICKLY AND SAVE YOUR NATURAL TOOTH, DR. MINER USES THE LATEST SPECIALIZED TECHNIQUES. PLUS, DR. MINER IS KNOWN FOR HIS EXTREMELY GENTLE TOUCH, SO YOU KNOW YOU’RE IN EXCELLENT HANDS.
THE ABCS OF ROOT CANAL THERAPY.
DR. MINER PERFORMS ROOT CANAL THERAPY AS AN IN-OFFICE PROCEDURE UNDER LOCAL ANESTHESIA, WHICH IS ADMINISTERED IN STAGES TO ENSURE YOUR TOTAL COMFORT. AFTER GENTLY REMOVING THE INFECTED OR INFLAMED PULP, HE CAREFULLY SHAPES AND DISINFECTS THE INSIDE OF THE ROOT CANAL. THE CANAL IS THEN FILLED AND SEALED WITH BIOCOMPATIBLE MATERIAL CALLED GUTTA-PERCHA. IN ADDITION, DR. MINER USES INSTRUMENTS AND TECHNIQUES THAT PRESERVE THE TOOTH STRUCTURE AND PROVIDES MORE PRECISE TREATMENT.
